Leonardo has been named new coach of Inter Milan.

The former AC Milan boss succeeds Rafa Benitez, who left the post on Thursday.

Inter released a statement last night confirming Leonardo is the new man in charge of the Nerazzurri.

He has signed a contract until June 30 2012 and will begin working with his new squad on December 29.

Leonardo jumps across San Siro after 13 years at rivals Milan as a player, talent scout, director and Coach.

He will be presented to the media on December 26.

?It would be disappointing to me if this was seen as a sideswipe at Milan and the Rossoneri,? said President Massimo Moratti.
