Martinez convinced N?Zogbia still committed to Wigan

Wigan Athletic

Charles N?Zogbia maybe in demand from other Premiership club?s but Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has no concerns over the player?s commitment to helping the Latics escape a bottom three placing.

Owner Dave Whelan confirmed the player wanted to stay for the time being at least.

Martinez said: "Charles has shown clear focus and determination to get the team out of the situation we are in. He has taken his game to another level this season.

"I feel he has still got a lot to do for Wigan and not reached his full potential. That's exciting from my point of view."

In an interview with the club's in-house TV station, Whelan said: "We want to keep our team and our players.

"We have had clubs chasing Zoggy (N'Zogbia) but he wants to stay and we are delighted."

Martinez has not ruled out the possibility of doing some business before the transfer window closes, but won't add to his group for the sake of it.

He said: "We were always guided by our injury situation. Franco di Santo and James McCarthy are fully fit while Emmerson Boyce is also back. Having all those players available is equal to making new signings.

"We will carry on looking as we are a little bit light up front as we have lost Mauro Boselli but they have to be the right player and the right character. I am proud and positive about the group we have."
