Barry Bannan / Villa’s Bannan thanks Scotland boss for opportunities

Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan has thanked Scotland manager Craig Levein for giving him a chance to show his capabilities on the international scene.

The 21-year old has now made a total of seven national team appearances since his debut in November last year culminating in his most impressive display in the 1-0 Euro2012 qualifying win over Lithuania last month.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liechtenstein and Tuesday’s meeting with Spain, Bannan told the Scottish Football Association’s official website that he was thankful to Levein for giving him game time which has coincided with him featuring in six of Villa’s seven unbeaten games this season.
