Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew may have found his replacement for Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.
Newcastle are monitoring Bordeaux?s 6ft 5in striker Cheikh Diabate, says the Daily Mail.
The Mali international has two years remaining on his contract but Toon manager Pardew should be handed sufficient funds.
Pardew has spent much of this week in France on a scouting mission.
